If you’re into a spot of photography (say no more) you might be interested to know that the nice people over at Mac Users UK are running a photo competition. There’s plenty of time to enter as the competition doesn’t close until the 20th January 2008, and all EdMUG members are welcome to submit as many entries as they like. If you want to enter please ask for a validation code (one per picture) by emailing us. More details over at the MacUsersUK Photo Competition Page.
We have a winner! Racing ahead of the rest our winning slogan is “You’ll Have Had Your PC“, and so Donnacha is the lucky winner of a Versiontracker/MacFixit Pro subscription. Well done Donnacha, and thanks to everyone who entered!
We’ve had loads of entries varying from the inspired to the bizarre and with a good few that could probably get us sued or at the very least punched.  Pick your favourite slogan from the list below and vote (once only please!) using the wonders of modern internet poll technology. Entrants can vote for themselves and non-entrants are probably best not voting for themselves. The poll will close at 11.59pm on Wednesday 5th September 2007 and the lucky winner will be announced the following day. Good luck!
+Â Voting closed! +
It’s been suggested that EdMUG should have their own t-shirts, and while opinions may be divided over how tasteful MUG t-shirts may or not be I’d like to know what slogan we’d proudly emblazon across them! In order to extract ideas out of you those nice people at Versiontracker/Macfixit are offering a Pro membership to the lucky winner.
As usual it’s answers on a postcard, so please submit your (reasonably clean) slogan suggestions by email to email@example.com no later than 11.59pm on Saturday 1st September 2007. After that date we’ll have a poll of the suggestions, and announce the winner!
What do you call a Mac user group without a logo? To be honest I have no idea, but right now EdMUG don’t have one and it’s time to rectify the situation!
In order to give EdMUG a visual identity I’m asking any budding designers among our members to have a go at creating an EdMUG logo, and the designer of the winning logo (as chosen by our members) will win a BRAND NEW 2nd gen iPod Shuffle in the colour of their choice!
There are only a few rules:
* The logo must feature the text ‘EdMUG’ in an easily readable form
* The logo must not contain any Apple trademarks
* The logo should be suitable for web use and print
* The logo must be your own work
* You must be a member of EdMUG (membership is currently defined as membership of the EdMUG mailing list). New members are also welcome to enter
* The winning logo will become the property of EdMUG for the purposes of group promotion and communications
Entries should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org in any common image format.
The closing date for entries is 23:59 on 28th February 2007. All entries which comply with the above criteria will be displayed for member vote and a winner will be announced on our website on 7th March 2007. The winner will receive their prize by post.
